Delivery INFORMATION

UK MAINLAND DELIVERY
Firewood Express delivers free of charge to all UK mainland addresses, including the Highlands and the Isle of Skye.
We can also arrange delivery to certain offshore islands for an additional fee – please contact us if you live off the mainland to confirm service availability and cost.

DELIVERY DATE SELECTOR
Please select your preferred target delivery date at checkout. Our courier successfully completes delivery on the requested date in the majority of cases. However, please note that the delivery date is a guide, not a guarantee. We recommend allowing a day or two either side of your chosen date to accommodate courier scheduling.

If you will not be available on the delivery day, please leave instructions when placing your order to confirm you are happy for the courier to leave your pallet without a signature. All firewood is delivered in showerproof packaging and can be safely left outdoors for a period of time.

If your delivery area supports online tracking we will provide you with this link & the reference number.

HOW YOUR FIREWOOD IS DELIVERED
Deliveries are made using an 18-tonne vehicle equipped with a tail lift and pallet trolley. You must ensure there is flat, hardstanding ground for unloading – pallet trolleys cannot operate on gravel, mud, grass, or other uneven surfaces.

Deliveries are to kerbside only as standard. While many drivers will do their best to place your pallet in your preferred spot (for example driveway or garage) where access allows, this cannot be guaranteed and should not be expected. Placement beyond kerbside is always at the driver’s discretion.

HIGHLANDS, ISLANDS & REMOTE AREAS
We do not charge extra for Highland deliveries, but please note that the courier network in remote areas operates differently. Routes may not coincide exactly with your preferred delivery date and deliveries may occur a period of days before or after your target date..

DELIVERY TIMINGS
Our couriers deliver between 08:00 and 18:00, Monday to Friday. Delivery times cannot be guaranteed.   Drivers may call ahead as a courtesy, but this is at their discretion. Please ensure you provide a working telephone number that the courier can reach you on.

FAILED OR REFUSED DELIVERIES
If a delivery cannot be completed due to unsuitable access, unsafe ground, or if a customer refuses delivery because the driver cannot place the pallet in a specific location (for example inside a garage or driveway), or due to timing issues, a refund will be issued minus the cost of delivery to your address and the return delivery fee.  This policy is in keeping with standard industry practice as these costs are charged to us by the courier once a pallet leaves our depot.

Thank you for your understanding and for supporting our family-run business – it is very much appreciated!

Terms & Conditions

  1. Gowanbank Farms Ltd does everything it can to ensure that the goods are delivered promptly. However, time shall not be of essence in relation to your contract with Gowanbank Farms Ltd, and late delivery shall not affect the contract with Gowanbank Farms Ltd. If Gowanbank Farms Ltd is aware of any anticipated lengthy delay in the delivery of the goods you have ordered, Gowanbank Farms Ltd will attempt to contact you and keep you advised of the likely date for delivery.

  2. Delivery shall be conditional upon access free from encumbrances and good roads being available to the delivery vehicles to the place of delivery. Gowanbank Farms Ltd will not accept any liability for damage to property caused during delivery. If the delivery vehicle cannot gain access to the delivery address, then additional costs may be payable. Our delivery vehicles are large and use tail lift offloading NOT CRANES. The delivery vehicle must be able to park where the delivery is to be made. A pallet truck is then used to manually manoeuvre the pallet off the vehicle to the KERBSIDE delivery point. This ground must be of tarmac or concrete and level and clear of obstructions like parked cars, overhanging trees or sharp bends.

  3. In such cases that delivery, in the opinion of Gowanbank Farms Ltd, is not possible, then the company reserves the right to cancel the order and apply their return conditions.

  4. All deliveries are made between 8.00am and 6.00pm. However even in this case, as stated above, time or date is not of essence in this contract
