Firewood Express will deliver with no shipping charges to any UK mainland address including Skye. Choose your delivery weekday from the dates available on our free service at the basket stage. This normally runs around 7 days in advance. If you have any concerns regarding delivery prior to placing an order please call our delivery help line during office hours on 01241 890207. Here we can answer all your delivery questions.
Highland Deliveries: Please note we don't charge more for Highland deliveries but they do carry a different service. Because of the sparse nature of the habitation, the delivery routes do not necessarily coincide with your target delivery date. They can arrive up to 2 days before or after your target date. We request that the delivery partner book in with you, but we are aware this is not always possible as they are unable to get an answer on the phone. As stated elsewhere, you do not need to attend the delivery as long as the delivery point is clear and accessible.
All Firewood Deliveries: Your delivery will be made via Freightroute/Palletforce and the driver will offload by lowering a platform to the ground and then pulling the pallet to the kerb. We do not use cranes to offload. If you have a hard standing and relatively flat drive, not too far from the kerb then this may be a possible drop point. Please note that a pallet truck will only operate on smooth hard standing ground and will not run over gravel or soft ground.
We will advise your delivery day in advance via email and its preferred that someone can accept delivery, but this is not essential. If no one can be there to accept you can help by indicating your preferred drop point. Please note that your preferred drop point must be within the restraints of pallet truck offload.
If you intend to take leave from work to accept delivery please contact us 48 hours in advance of your delivery date to confirm details. Our delivery partners do not guarantee a delivery day or time so please take this into account when taking leave to accept a delivery.
Always remember that someone has to be the last delivery of the day as our delivery partners operate up to 18:00. We do ask the drivers to call in advance and this is at the discretion of the driver. When ordering it helps to give us a mobile number and a landline, the more phone numbers the better!
DELIVERY TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. K & D Henderson does everything it can to ensure that the goods are delivered promptly. However, time shall not be of essence in relation to your contract with K & D Henderson, and late delivery shall not affect the contract with K & D Henderson. If K & D Henderson is aware of any anticipated lengthy delay in the delivery of the goods you have ordered, K & D Henderson will attempt to contact you and keep you advised of the likely date for delivery.
2. Delivery shall be conditional upon access free from encumbrances and good roads being available to the delivery vehicles to the place of delivery. K & D Henderson will not accept any liability for damage to property caused during delivery. If the delivery vehicle cannot gain access to the delivery address, then additional costs may be payable. Our delivery vehicles are large and use tail lift offloading NOT CRANES. The delivery vehicle must be able to park where the delivery is to be made. A pallet truck is then used to manually manoeuvre the pallet off the vehicle to the KERBSIDE delivery point. This ground must be of tarmac or concrete and level and clear of obstructions like parked cars, overhanging trees or sharp bends.
3. In such cases that delivery, in the opinion of K & D Henderson, is not possible, then the company reserves the right to cancel the order and apply their return conditions.
4. All deliveries are made between 8.00am and 6.00pm. However even in this case, as stated above, time or date is not of essence in this contract
